Clay and Glaze

All Glaze On Studio products are handmade one-of-a-kind pieces of functional ceramic art made from high quality stoneware clay and mid fire glazes. Each piece is created on a potter's wheel or slab-built. Pottery making is a multistep, multiday process with a lengthy production schedule due to drying times and multiple 24-hour firings in a specialized ceramics kiln. 

You may notice slight irregularities, asymmetry, pinholes or other surface imperfections in the shape or finish of your pot, as nothing here is mass produced. Perfection is boring! Any irregularity adds to the intrinsic character, charm and beauty of a piece of handcrafted pottery and should not be considered a flaw. This handmade and intentional process makes each piece unique; no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.

Glaze colors are notoriously difficult to capture in photo as different lighting sources bring out various pigments in the surface design. You will see differences in multiple photos of the same piece, and from what you see on your screen to the pottery you hold in your hands.

Food Safety

All of our pottery is food safe (unless specifically noted in an item’s description) and microwave safe. While everything is also dishwasher safe, for the longevity of your pottery we recommend hand washing.

Custom Orders and Collaborations

Custom items require at least a 4-6 week production window. In some cases rushed production and/or shipping may be possible for an additional fee. Please email with questions.

Shipping & Handling

All orders will be processed within 5 business days and shipped via USPS. Tracking information will be provided. We make every effort to get creative in our reuse of shipping materials whenever possible, and to purchase only new eco-conscious materials when necessary. 

Free US domestic shipping for orders over $150.  

Exchanges

The unique nature of handmade pottery means we cannot offer refunds or reimburse for shipping costs.  All sales are final. 

Should you receive an item damaged in shipping please take photos of the box, packing material and all shipped items, including damaged pieces. Email glazeonstudio@gmail.com within 2 days of receipt to discuss replacement.
